I already know this series is going to break my heart in the end but I am here for it anyway because it's Kennedy Ryan and I love her books.
Flow is an amazing start for an emotional, poignant and beautiful story of Bristol and Grip. I felt each and every emotion even though it was just 120+ pages. I don't know how Kennedy does it but it's like she shoots her words and they go straight to my heart.
The story follows Grip aka Marlon James and Bristol first meet and how they developed this undeniable and strong connection to each other in just a week. Bristol is in LA to fix her relationship with her twin brother Rhyson and there she met Grip who is Rhyson's bestfriend and a struggling musician and an incredible writer/poet who is just waiting for the right time to make a hit in the music world.
“So what color am I then?” I ask before thinking better of it. He’ll probably just say I’m white, obviously. “What color are you?” he repeats, his eyes never leaving my face. “You, Bristol, are a freaking prism.”
Bristol was just incredible and I can't wait to know more about her in next books. Grip was sweet and tender but he's a playboy. Grip and Bris has everything. The chemistry. The sweet and easy-going friendship. The strong soulmatism kind of connection. Their banter, bickering and conversations were everything and I could listen to them talking about music, poetry and just anything for hours. It was just beautiful how easily they understood each other even though they've never known each other for all their lives. But it's also insta-love and I want Kennedy to explore more of their backstory and their relationship before we get any real action.
“We both gave each other space to be misunderstood, because we really wanted to understand.”
I did not liked how Grip hide his relationship from Bristol. She had the right to know before he kissed her and it doesn't matter how trivial and stupid that relationship was for him because she believed in him and his honesty and he lied by omission.
The ending was illegal. I knew there would be a cliffhanger in the end but I was not ready for the revelation. I need to know what happens next and I am so ready to binge read this series!...more
