❝You said you loved me. I hate that we lost that.❞
I don't have enough time to psychoanalyse these bitches, so I'd settle for hating them. It's obvious from the title that it's toxic, and the hero will be a massive jerk-asshole, but you're still ready for that, right? Because everyone loves a good enemies-to-lovers book, BUT with a good reason for being enemies. well? The reason was non-existent here, or you can call it immature jealousy.
• Tate and Jared have been best friends for years until one summer when they were 14, and Jared went to meet his dad for some weeks. He came back being cold and cruel, started bullying Tate, and hated her. She became the target of everyone. Now, after leaving for France for a year, she's back and ready to fight anyone.
This was messed up on so many levels. I hate bullying, but even I'd tolerate it a little for the sake of a good book. But was this a good book? Nope. It was childish, petty, and portrayed immature characters. If you're not going to give us dual POV, try NOT to give depth in mysterious ways, yeah?
Tate — is bullied so much, and I felt bad for what she suffered in those years. Having your best friend bully you and making you the target of the whole school is insufferable. She wasn't suicidal like Kimberly but I wish she was because atleast that way she'd have some depth to her character. Kim had so much depth & that book is my favorite for this reason alone, and she was a genuinely kind soul. TATE IS JUST NOT A GIRL'S GIRL. I hate that she suffered, but that's not the reason to justify her behavior. It's not about her overall behavior with others, it's about how she sees another person in front of her. I get it, we're teenagers, and I'm not saying I've never thought bad about someone, I did, but saying things aloud and using violence was not IT. Anger issues? Well, keep them in check. I was supposed to like her because OH WEL SHE'S FIGHTING THE MEANIESSS, but she sucked. At first, I cheered her, but then her POV started to annoy me with how much she just made her whole life centered around Jared. go ugly cry weirdo.
Jared — Do I have to sympathize with this jerk and accept his bullying just because he was abused by his daddy and saw how his brother used to live with him and the traumatic things happened to him? YEAH, I SHOULD. But will I? NO FUCK. His reason was not even a good one ...more

I'm so happy right now that I chose to read this trilogy after the last book was published because I wouldn't have survived with this clusterfuck ending. I'm gonna be truly honest, I thought I'd love this book more than Book 1, but I actually like that one more.
❝Prince of Hearts understood heartbreak because his heart had broken over and over as he looked for love.❞
• After Evangeline figured out that Jacks manipulated her and tricked her into being the key, she hated him. But she found herself trapped by him again when she discovered that Apollo is in a suspended state, and only Jacks could fix that. Worse, someone put the infamous ARCHER'S CURSE on Apollo, and now he has to hunt Evangeline and kill her.
❝Jacks no longer felt like her enemy, he felt like her home.❞
Evangeline — I really liked her character development! She isn't that naive girl from Book 1, and her determination and decision-making were pretty good. She's quite fierce in this book. I loved how she controlled herself in front of Jacks. The ending scenes where she desperately wanted to lift Jacks' curse made me feel really bad for her. She deserves sm better!
Everything was really predictable, but I still enjoyed it! Rai and Kyle had too many fights in this one, but I guess I like this one more.

Everything was really predictable, but I still enjoyed it! Rai and Kyle had too many fights in this one, but I guess I like this one more.
• In this book, Kyle's past is revealed and he's out for revenge. He wants to kill the people who killed his parents – Irish and Russians because they were somehow involved. He could've taken his revenge but he also wanted Rai, that's why he set-up an arranged marriage plan!
Kyle — is wayyy better in this book now that he started sharing his past with her. I actually felt so bad after reading his past scene where his mom and dad died. That scene was truly heartbreaking, and his parents loved him! What happened to him was bad, and I'm glad he found his godfather. Kyle's character is complex, and his past makes it understandable why he's so obsessive; he has put the lives of the people in love in danger once before because of his nature.
His betrayal with his godfather wasn't told, so I had to read it in 'ghosted'. Kyle was disheartened that his godfather was neglecting him for his wife/lover, so he aimed a gun at her and tried to kill her and also tried to kill himself. Well, he was forgiven, but he went to England!
Rai — aahh she was still the same. She's super indecisive, on one hand, she doesn't want to trust Kyle, but on the other, she can't just live without him. Glad she put up a fight with him for the things he did, but she should've held onto them!
Kyle exchanging her birth-control pills and making her pregnant was seriously so freaking wrong. And the hypocrisy of him to act like it's Rai's fault that she wants to abort the child—like, seriously? He was withdrawing from her and being petty, and Rai was like, "I WILL KEEP THE CHILD NOW." Okayyy soooo, I would've been more and more pissed, but Kyle actually apologized for it in the letter and told her about the reasons he did it and respects if she wants an abortion and all! And then he left her again... lol, he came back then. It's just, there's no point of being guilty, and I don't think he really is lol because he wants her to have his baby, it's just that he thinks he lost her. well now we have NIKOLAI so ig it was worth it eh? ...more

Tbh, Rina Kent ensures her books have a captivating side plot to engage readers. Even though you might dislike the dynamic between the couple at times – which I didn't in this book, you just keep pushing through. So, I'm super curious to know what'll happen next!
❝Just because I was born a woman, doesn’t mean I’ll let anyone stomp all over me.❞
This is an arranged marriage, enemies-to-lovers romance without Rina's favorite virgin trope. ✨
Rai Sokolov — she's the executive director at V corp and is an elite member in the brotherhood (alongside other members aka Kirill, Damien & Adrian). She's always looked down upon because she's a woman, but she fought and gave as good as she got because she doesn't give a fuck about anyone. She wants to stay on top to protect the people she loves. She wants power.
Ngl, she is wayyy cooler than I anticipated. She's better than her daughters. I actually quite liked her attitude and how she dealt with Kyle, he's wayy too much of an alpha-hole, so it was shocking that this book did not show much misogyny. Rai is a badass, but yes, she suffered from BODY BETRAYING SYNDROME too.
Kyle Hunter — he's a professional and the best hitman in Bratva. He left Rai 7 years ago for a mission, and now he's back in the brotherhood. I actually liked him, he's quite arrogant and overconfident, but still, he's much better and is kinda smitten with Rai. I'm curious to know his secrets and past, but overall, he isn't bad and he'd just DIE FOR HER.

“Hate me enough to make me want you.”
This has to be the longest I've waited for a book and NOT enjoyed it. This one was supposed to be angsty with bittersweet moments, a proper development that does justice to the story, but there wasn't any! Kai was basically useless, Kitt was sleepless, and pae ofc is powerless.
➳ This book didn't fail to deliver the cutest scenes ever, the dancing, the team-up, the rain scene, and much more, but IT FAILED TO DELIVER THE PLOT. I'm sorry, but the whole book revolved around or had to revolve around Kai finding Paedyn, which he did after a week? And all the struggle he did here, was just to keep her with himself because she keeps running away. ALSO A BIG EXCUSEEEEEMEEEEE TO THE ENDING *rolling my eyes rn*
➳ I was bored of the dramatics, the sentences were overused. The characters were way too indecisive!
'I have to kill him, I won't hesitate again' – Paedyn after not killing Kai for the 1000th time, even after getting 1000 chances.
'It's my duty, my mission to bring her to Ilya' – Kai after flirting and taking care of Paedyn.
❝You never truly realize how much you care about a person until they’re gone.❞
I totally underestimated Rook and Sage, and this book complet5 stars

This book was filled with endless drama, constant push and pull, animosity between Kirill and Sasha, and a lot of miscommunication and trust issues. This book was good in its own accord, but I loved the others more!!
╰┈➤ FAKE DEATH DRAMA:
"Here are the days when I wonder why I’m still breathing when she isn’t."
After Kirill heard about the bombing on the cabin where Sasha was, he immediately went there, where he found a burned body that had her ring and bracelet, which he gave her, and the DNA was matched — he thought she had died. He became a ghostly version of himself. He went on a killing spree, got drunk at her grave every night, and started imagining her presence. He constantly had thoughts of dying, but it wasn't until Maksim told him that SASHA IS ALIVE AND WANTS TO KILL HIM.
"She wants to kill me the next time she sees me? By all means. Anything for my beautiful wife."
"She also loved singing and kissing. But then she left and took away her hugs, her smiles, and even her infuriating arguments."
To be honest, I expected more from Kirill when he met Sasha. He was so calm at that time, and I wanted him to say something instead of being calm. But he threatened Sasha because he had captured Anton — her brother, whom she found at the end of Book 2 and with whom she planned the fake death and execution plan for Kirill. So she had no choice but to go with him, but on the condition that she'd divorce him in 3 months.
Even though she shot him and ignored him for weeks and had that DON'T TOUCH ME RULE, when they went to the cabin, she gave in, and they spent weeks enjoying each other's company happily!
╰┈➤ EMOTIONAL DRAMA:
I don't know why Kirill was calling out Sasha for being an overthinker and leaving him because of her insecurities when he was the one who didn't talk to her about the fake marriage with Kristina — his brother's wife. Like, please, she thought he had ended the engagement! I think Sasha was right because everything was slammed into her face at that moment.
"You went above and beyond hurting me back."
But what she did to him was super cruel, and Kirill was so badly TRAUMATIZED by that that he was constantly thinking of ways to never let her go. He knew he would lose her if he did something drastic, but he couldn't let her be alone either because he was afraid!
Sasha also had so many doubts, ugh, she constantly thought that Kirill would discard her because why not! He might love her, but he loves his power more, and the fact that she still has to take revenge!
╰┈➤ CONCLUSION:
— I'm so glad the book ended well, and it was great! I wanted more scenes of Kirill taking care of Sasha during her pregnancy, but obviously, we don't always get what we want ...more
