The Hate U Give is a book that has been highly praised since it was released and rightly so, it is utterly brilliant. I'm not sure what more I can add to the discussion and praise surrounding this book, that hasn't already been said by people much better equipped to discuss it than I am, so I highly, highly recommend that you please search for and read the excellent own reviews reviews out there for this book. I'll simply say this, the hype surrounding The Hate U Give is undeniably deserving. It's insightful, wonderfully written and incredibly impactful. I loved every single moment of it, from the uncomfortable and painful parts, to the funny, light hearted moments. This is exactly the kind of accessible book that should be required reading in schools to help expand people's minds and understanding of this part of our society. I absolutely loved Angie Thomas's writing style, she could make me smile whilst reading one page and feel like I'd been punched in the gut on the next. I cannot wait to see what comes next for her, her writing and the success I'm sure The Hate U Give movie will be.
