I bought this as soon as it was released, I was really excited to read it since I absolutely LOVE The Girl with All the Gifts but this is just a huge disappointment.
It's completely dull and just, boring.
I might pick it up later to finish it so I can give it a more proper rating. (I really don't like DNFing books no matter how bad they are)

Yes, I'm the same way. It really bothers me not to finish a book. One book in particular took me 3 separate attempts!!! Hope your next one is 5 stars!!!
@Brenda I tried to finish it two or three times now, still not working out. I probably need a bigger break before I can finish this one 😩 Thanks, I hope so! 💕
It does pickup speed in the last 1/3 or 1/2, but yeah I understand if something isn't clicking with a book often best to just stop
@Stephen I'm definitely giving it another chance just not anytime soon, I'm even considering reading it backwards. 🤔
I found the majority of the book to be exactly like you said - but, if nothing else, skip to the epilogue, as that will give some closure to Girl as well :) (I also really really liked book 1 so I consider this to have been a worthwhile read if only for that)
@Kim I’m glad to know I’m not the only one, I see a lot of 4/5 stars and good reviews! Am I missing on something? I guess I’m going to try re-reading it this Summer. 😄
@Lectus I’d like to know how it turns out for you! Encourage me more to re-read if it’s getting any better. 😋

Personally I don't feel like it's worth trying to slog through the full thing (though my opinion in general was similar to yours), but I do think it's worth skipping straight to the epilogue since there's closure of the first book there :)
