“Jesus watches from the wall,
But his face is cold as stone,
And if he loves me
As she tells me
Why do I feel so all alone?”
I remember watching the movie when I was very little, I was pretty much petrified by it. The image of a poor girl covered in pig blood, going on a killing spree haunted me, and here I am today reading it for the first time awfully distraught and yet incredibly mesmerized by King's writing. No wonder he is where he is today. A true genius!

This was one of his veey early works, therefore he must have improved significantly since then. I can't wait to read "it" but it's quite long and one needs to devote a long time for it.

Yeah you're absolutely right Tariq, it was the fourth novel King wrote, but the very first one published he published. I have no doubt that his writing is much better in his later works.
I'm also planning on reading It and The Mist . Hopefully soon.
Thank you so much for your comment, Tariq! Appreciate it. :)

I chose this particular quote because I thought it reflected how Carrie has felt through out most the novel. It's very, very sad.
Anyway, thank you Bonnie! :)

Exactly. I remember her mother using religion as a weapon against her (in the movie, that is) and that, to me, is the saddest thing. "Jesus wept."

I felt the same about his movies, so couldn't bring myself to read his books. but there was a movie about some boys who found a dead body, and I loved the movie, and the book is The Body, but while the movie was a wonderful coming of age movie and sot scary, I am afraid that the book may be. Would also like to read The Stand.
