5 Stars... clearly, Ja?

I must say; after reading this book, I am completely disheveled in appearance and spent. This book wore me out to say the least. This was a thrill ride of the highest order, and creeped me out the entire time. I don't want to give away anything and provide spoilers; for fear that 'someone' may find this out and complete a mind-game on me.

This book is about mind-control; vampirism that not only takes your life essence, but your very soul. It is about having complete power over individuals, maybe; entire cities/communities; maybe, the entire world, most definitely. Will they succeed; I don't know, but I feel like I need an aluminum helmet a la; "Signs"; to keep 'ME' being me..

So, if this intrigues you to take the plunge; to USE this book for entertainment; don't say I didn't warn you... or did I?? I can't seem to remember.....

I finally found it a a USB in Charlotte called Book Buyers. The store was overwhelming, with the amount of shelf space/size. Next time, I will have a game plan going in.

Anyway, I am looking forward to reading it. I haven't heard a bad review yet. :D

Dustin What an awesome find, Alondra! I'm so happy for you!!

And I don't think you'll be disappointed with Carrion Comfort. I've yet to read a negative review, either. I really want to try more of Dan Simmons' work!

Janie Johnson Alondra, thankfull there are some good guys, and you will fall in love with them. Glad you are enjoying the book.

Thanx, Dustin. It is starting to get good; but lots of pages to go. These characters are so infinitely evil and think they are in the right to be so...

Dustin You are very welcome, Alondra! I'm glad to hear that you're really getting into it now.:) Do you have a favorite character yet? I know it's relatively early..

i like sheriff gentry, he is hilarious. they assume he is an idiot and he lets them. i hope he sticks around...

Dustin Yeah, Sheriff Gentry's a great character. And I agree, he is much more intelligent than he lets on.:)

Janie Johnson I love Sheriff Gentry and Natalie! She is a very strong character!

love that they didn't just ignore what old Saul said. she does make really stupid mistakes though... don't go there, don't do this.. and she does it anyway. you cannot fight these things. you literally have to sever head from body like a blood-vamp... dang.

Dustin I agree, Natalie's character is a great one, as well!

i am glad she is strong and not some whimpering woman in the corner. i was really hoping she would be a neutral. that would have been awesome! *says in singsong voice*
