For a book that took me a good portion of the story to become fully engaged in the plot, characters, and love story, Dancing on Coals turned out to be much better than I expected. It's beautifully written, thought provoking, emotional, at times harsh, and one of the more inspiring books I've read. Simply put, Dancing on Coals is a fantastic read. I highly recommend this book.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Oh! Looks like you started.

Kristen No. Not yet. Just added it to currently reading.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Cool. Happy trails to you... Tomorrow, Gaetan is all ours. LOL

Baba He is not your usual hero, that's for sure! :) But it's possible that you will like him eventually.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) He has issues. He'll warm up in his own way. He's had a very hard life.

KatLynne Just finished Kristen. Hope you are loving it!

Kristen Did you like the book? I'll go check out your review. I'm loving it now. This is definitely a slow burn type of book. I usually have a hard time getting into these type of books but once I do, I end up loving them wholeheartedly.

Baba Kristen, I'm so glad to read that! :))

Baba I hear you are ill...get well soon, Kristen! :)

Kristen Yes. Stomach flu hit the family the last few days. I've been taking care of sick kids and then got sick myself. But am feeling better now. It was a 24 hour thing, thank goodness. And yes, I'm loving this story now. A lot. Just haven't had time to finish reading. Ugh. Hopefully, life will go back to normal soon.

Baba This is kinda been there, done that too! I don't envy you! :(

Baba Ok, Kristen, I'm waiting for your review! :))

KatLynne So sorry you and your family have been sick and glad it was only the 24 hour bug!

Kristen This really was a fabulous book. I hope to get my review done by tomorrow or Monday the latest.

Baba Kristen, I'm still waiting for your full review. :))

Karla Great review, I felt the same way Kristen. Took a while to grab me, and then it was great.

I was looking through my "to review" shelf and forgot that I never finished this book's review. With three KA reviews to still write, I just quickly finished this one. I've KA on the mind and I can't remember too much about this book, other than I loved the second half of the story and the ending was fantastic.

I can understand why you like this book. I didn't care for it either, until half way through. This book isn't going to be for everyone, that's for sure.

Booklover Hmm, you have peeked my curiosity with this review. GR has it as a recommendation for me, but I haven't read it or put it in my shelf. What's so bad in this story?

Kristen There is nothing bad, but it's a slower paced book with a lot of narrative during the first half. I'm not a fan of a lot of narrative so that made the first half of the story boring for me, but that's a personal issue. A lot of people I trust LOVE this book and have given it 5 stars. I, too, would have given it 5 stars if I didn't dislike narrative so much. Give the book a try, I bet you'd love it.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) @Kristen - It was when the H/h were apart that was slow for you, right? Where Katherine adjusts to their lifestyle and assimilates into Gaetan's culture?

Kristen Yes. That part was mostly narrative. It was interesting, but I got bored. I would have enjoyed that part more had there been more dialogue with the other Indians around her. Once Gaetan and Katherine were together, his softer side came out, and they talked, I loved it. They had some of the best dialogue I've read.

Baba Nice review, Kristen! I couldn't hit the "like" button anymore. I think I did it sometime last year... :))

Kristen I wanted to write a longer review, but I have KA on the brain (shocking) and I felt it was time to get this story reviewed. Lol. Thanks Baba.

Kristen Thanks Anna. For me, this book had a very slow start but once the hero and heroine finally got page time together (1/2 through book) and their romance developed, I loved the book. It really is good read.

Kristen Enjoy!
