did not like it
bookshelves: dnf

I can’t... I can’t do this to myself.
DNF at 47%.

I started skim-reading this book way too early on and if that isn’t a sign, I don’t know what is.

This book was such a mess. From the confusing world-building to the plot, the irritating characters and the awkward and random sexual encounters that would come out of nowhere.

Book, you ain’t for me. We’re breaking up. And I’m happy about it.

jessica ohhh no! so sorry this didnt work out for you, warda! i hope your next book is better!! xx

Meagan Haha I gave this one star and I finished the whole book. You aren't missing anything. I really want this to be Buffy with Fae set in Ireland. And it was so far from that.

Thank you, Jessica. ❤️ It’s so unexpected because I thought I was going to love it. But it just wasn’t for me.

Ninosy (Wonder Woman) I didnt like it either when I read it a while ago...

😂😂 honestly your comment confirmed my gut instinct. I felt nothing whilst reading it, bloody hell.

Warda Ninosy wrote: "I didnt like it either when I read it a while ago..."

It really wasn’t as great as it was made out to be. 😕

Meagan And you get to skip an annoying characte (more annoying than Mac) that gets introduced in book 2.

Meagan Yea there is way too much hype surrounding this series!

Lmao! I am so thankful you saved me. 😂

MischaS_ I very much agree. If I had a list of top worst books this one would be there. I honestly cannot find anything redeeming about this. Not a single thing I like about this.

I was expecting this to be the next love of my life... but I’m so annoyed about it. 😅

MischaS_ Btw, do you know that the author published on her website a scene from this book from Barrons's POV? :D

Scarlett✨17™ So sorry the book didn't work out for you!! I loved the series, but I have to admit that the first few books weren't the greatest.

message 19: by sab (new)

sab 100% agree, I will never understand the hype for it 🙃

Yeah, I have been told that it gets better, but the first book wasn't enough to suck me in unfortunately.
I'm glad you love it though. :)

Me neither lol but that's hype I guess. Can never predict where it takes you.

I actually did. I think right after finishing darkfever. I think I rated it better than the book just for the fact that it was not writen from the POV of Mac. But I had a new set of problems with that little scene.

The problems don't seem to end. I rather not think about this book ever again tbh. :P

Scott Shjefte I read it and was disappointed, gave it a 2.75 for the Fae interesting connotations, the world building and some creative monsters.

The world-building was quite interesting. But not interesting enough for me to keep reading lol

Christine Elizabeth DeVita I barely got through the first chapter. Highly considering stopping there.

The world building is some of the worst I have ever seen. There are far too many adjectives in every sentence. And all the pre-information story telling makes it so boring.

Manteltje I you all missed something great. This whole series is my Roman empire and I have reading this sort of books for 20 years. It’s epic.
