In summary, this was a good read (and relatively compact, at around 500 pages)
It's translated from French to English. There are some errors and typos in the books, but they are not a big deal and don't impact the content. Some of the typos are probably caused by the translation, and some of them happened because the author is not familiar with Farsi and Arabic and Islamic terms. Some examples: mis-pronunciation of cities and generals' names, wrong translation of some of Iran's major operations.
I reported the typos and errors to the author and he confirmed them and told me if they print it again, these will be fixed

محتوای کتاب چطور بود مهدی؟ با توجه به اینکه روایت جنگ توی جمهمری اسلامی همیشه با سایه ای از دروغ و حماسه سازی و پنهان کاری همراه هست.

ببین به نظرم به طور کلی بی طرفانه نوشته شده. مولف خودش فرانسویه و خب با یه سری افراد فرانسوی مصاحبه کرده و به اسنادی از دولت فرانسه دسترسی داشته (چون فرانسه به خصوص با عراق رابطه خوبی داشت در دوران جنگ) همچنین با یه سری افراد ایرانی و ژنرال های عراقی مصاحبه داشته.خیلی هم روون و مختصر نوشته شده. محتوای کتاب حدود ۵۰۰ صفحه است
کلی هم منابع تهش لیست کرده
یه سری چیزا که ایران همیشه رد می کرده رو آورده توی کتاب. مثلا فشار به دولت های اروپایی برای فروش سلاح، از طریق گروگان گیری در لبنان، یا استفاده از موج انسانی و نوجوون ها در بعضی از عملیات ها.
نکات جالبی رو هم از جلسات خصوصی صدام که نوارهاشون پس از حمله امریکا به عراق منتشر شد توی کتاب آورده
به نظرم به طور کلی منصفانه و خوب نوشته شده
