oh god. i like nevernight and that's the reason this has been on my tbr, but i just removed it bc of your review. i haven't read illuminae yet but im pretty sure it's by the same author and i already have it; is that worth the read (also is lifelike, which is just by him)?

tbh if i’m being real i didn’t like illuminae either. both these authors just don’t do it for me. but i kno a lot of people who hated this book actually really like illuminae so who knows

Honestly, after the trainwreck that was Obsidio (and, in retrospect, also Gemina) I have like zero faith in these two as a writer duo. Illuminae was honestly the only good thing they've ever done together and that's mostly because it had an actual plot
