"You cannot redeem the unredeemable."
I was surprised by the elegance in which she relayed her memories.
Her honesty with spotty bits in her recollections and her confusion of feelings (in and out of her memories) creates a comfortable companion.
The flaws are there and they make the story more sapid.

Rachel Ohh! This reminds me of the movie Mummy Dearest. Joan Crawford. How is it so far?

MissBecka Gee That's what I thought too! Love that movie BTW.
This is actually quite good so far. It's not a novel so much as emotional reflections on the past? It's heavy in the most lovely way. She really has a way with words!

Rachel Ohh wow. That does sound interesting. I'll be interested in your review once your done with this.
Yeah I love the movie too. Dam creepy.

MissBecka Gee It's moved into a more structure timeline now, but still lovely!
Yeah I love me some creepy Joan!!!
Hoping to finish this one by Tuesday?

Rachel Ohh! So sorry I'm only just seeing this now. I'll have to see if you finished it.

You did! 4 stars. That's great 👍🙂. Good review hun.

MissBecka Gee Thanks Rachel!
This was really good, mostly since the writing is so beautiful.
It's mostly psychological, so a little easier to get through than some other memoirs of abuse. Still a lot of triggers in it though.

This is intriguing! Will I love it?

MissBecka Gee Rachel hit the nail on the head with suggesting it sounded like Mommy Dearest...though this is a true story so (slightly) less extreme. I think you would like it Deetz, her writing is surprisingly lovely.

Rachel Apparently Mommy Dearest was based on a true story but I donno if it was ever fully proven. The daughter wrote a book on her side.

MissBecka Gee I didn't know that. Thanks Rach!!!
I love that you learn me knew fun things almost every time we speak :)
