I hate to leave bad reviews but I just did not like this book at all. I should have stopped reading the book 1/4 in but instead I ended up skimming most the pages. Firstly, every scene where Paige films was so cringey to me. The way she spoke and her whole “pretties” thing made me skip reading those scenes all together. And the relationship between Paige and Spencer itself just moved way too fast. The writer makes a point of creating this shy and awkward character at the start of the book only for that to disappear completely 2 seconds after they get together. Makes no sense to me. And I understand that each book in this series is written by a different author, but the lack of consistency in the series is very frustrating. What happened to Hudson being the captain? And wouldn’t JD have graduated already? Having said that, I did skip a few of the last few books as I did not like them and stopped reading them a few chapters in. So maybe that lack of consistency could be due to that. But I unfortunately just could not enjoy this book.
