I definitely really enjoyed this book but my three stars are pretty much entirely for the interesting plot and the main character.

✅ I WAS HOOKED from the very first chapter. I thought how the story was set up was really smart and it constantly left you wanting to keep reading so you could find out more about Oli's backstory and what her powers are

✅ OLI WAS A SPUNKY and badass fmc and I had a lot of fun with her as the narrator. She definitely had a temper and a bit of a dirty mouth, but I enjoyed it. She gave me El vibes from A Deadly Education because she kept talking about how dangerous she was, as if she was going to be responsible for the end of the world or something. It was a little repetitive, but I still liked it because it made her whole backstory more mysterious

❌ THE RUDENESS AND BULLYING from the love interests was just too extreme for me and really rubbed me the wrong way. It's mostly limited to 2 or 3 out of the 5 love interests, but the number of times they called Oli a "fucking bitch" was about 100 too many and it's just really hard for me to get on board with that. Plus that one scene with Nox... just no 🤮🤬

🆗 THE ROMANCE IS A DELICIOUS slow burn... but almost too slow at times because of how mean some of them are. I definitely wouldn't mind if they started being friendlier a little faster

✅ THE BONDS AND THE MAGIC are interesting and I think it's a unique spin on the typical bond that almost always exists in RH.

Overall, I really liked the story and am definitely going to be jumping right into the next book. I just hope that the boys become a little friendlier and things start to spice up in the sequel. I recommend this if you're looking for a really fast-paced, funny, and slow-burn reverse harem >> just be prepared because the boys are pretty mean to Oli and Oli is pretty mean right back to them for quite a while.
