The Flames of Hope (Wings of Fire, #15)

It seems golden days of the series are long gone. I feel that over time story focused on younger and younger audience, until it ended up being hug story with silly dialogues without any tension.
Remember how in arc one dragons were being stabbed through head, burned to death, and locked in neverending war?

Just finished this book and I agree 100%. Felt very childish compared to arc 1 where parts genuinely creeped me out a bit
that last paragraph’s argument is so stupid, because on page 162 it literally says, “It also could not possibly be alive. The plant was growing straight through the dragon’s skull, emerging horrifyingly from a split at the top of its head, and then continuing through the humans skull.” The book also gives more insight on the humans and they actually get a lot more “screen time” and gives some more character depth to the humans. Also, the story’s just written to fit the character’s personality, and as Luna has been seen as a generally quiet, passive character, of course she’s going to be silly or childish in her mind. How does this mean the golden days are long gone?
