I really enjoyed this to start with. I liked the writing, the world the author created was interesting and I liked the characters. It's been a while since I've read anything post-apocalyptic and I was so invested in the beginning of the story that I almost forgot this was supposed to be a 'romance'. Well, I was reminded of that with an image I did not see coming. 😂 I'm also not too happy with how the 'relationship' between the MCs started. I think I expected something a bit different.
Anyway, I can see why this series has so many fans, but it's just not my thing.

It came out of nowhere and I just found it icky 😂. I expected the things between the MCs to develop a bit differently.

You’ve got company in the unpopular opinion camp🙋🏾♀️ This did not work for me at all either. I was bored out of my mind cause all the hot monster sex couldn’t make up for the lack of plot. The world building was also weak though I hear it improves in subsequent books.

Sorry it didn’t work out. I tried a sample and couldn’t get into it but I might try more at some point. But it just might not be for me either so I get it.

But the moment Danny realized he was attracted to Wyn, the story went into a different direction. Damn, I've been meaning to read this and now it doesn't sound as promising... I get that Wyn's anatomy was an issue for quite a few readers and this makes me question whether it's my cuppa as well.

And even that is questionable sometimes. 😂 But it wasn't only that. The way the things start between them, I can't even call it a relationship at this point, didn't work for me.
But so many of my GR friends love this series, so I'm definitely in the minority. I did like the world, though.

Oh nooo Snjez 💓I’m sorry it wasn’t better for you. I’ve been seeing this series in my FB feeds a lot. I’m not really a fan of dystopian romances that’s why I’ve been on the fence with this one. I’m intrigued but also wary of reading it. Now after reading your review, I’m more hesitant to read this. I don’t know, will see 😂.
Well I just finished my current read and now lunchtime is almost here and I can’t settle on a book to read. I’m going to just dive in and see whether I’ll like it 😅.

My favorite part is the different monster anatomies lol 😂 not sure what that says about me. I’m not even into fantasy end of the world apocalyptic type books either but this series just works for me. I’m sorry you didn’t love it but I do understand it’s not for everyone. Hope your next read is better 💗
Now I'm a bit conflicted if I should start it, keep it for a bit longer on my tbr list or just ignore it ....
