Oh my goodness what a great read! I love books and will read just about anything. As such I always try to find something about the book that I enjoyed. So when I randomly discover an author like Sienna Moreau, I literally giggle. Then twirl a bit. Then sit down and savor every single page. This is book two of the author’s Four Horseman series and it is so well done. Every writer has at least one thing they are good at…and that is cool. But there are those relatively few authors who excel at pretty much everything in their novel..and Ms. Moreau is one of them.

First let me say that on a snark scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest amount of snark…pretty much every character comes in at a 10. Even a horse. Second, Sienna Moreau could teach a course on pacing out an enemy-to-lover storyline. It is one thing to have that type of slow burn building in a believable manner but to craft it so artfully that the reader is not reeeeaally sure what is going to happen until the last few pages? Well, that’s just genius.

There is a lot of sexy time but none of it feels gratuitous. I mean, you have the Horseman of War…and the biggest badass Archangel…..grrrrrrr. But the steamy bits are all integral to the protagonist’s relationship. These two immortal dudes have been maiming one another for millennia so there is gonna be a lot of pent up testosterone everywhere.

These characters, as well as so many others in the story are for the most part morally grey…which I love. Because isn’t that what most people are if we are truly honest? Speaking of the characters, the author wins another award for best character development. When you read this book you will see what I mean. Very few writers can start a book with “I’m going to gut you” and end the book with “I will never leave you” in any believable way (I don’t think any of those words were actually used). But Ms. Moreau was able to do that and much more. If the book blurb sounds appealing to you then this is a must read.
