In this volume the boys learn how to fence as a team and it was so much fun. I love the dynamics between the characters and the matches were really exciting.
The slow burn in this series is the slowest ever, but I think it's perfect and I really like where the story is going. Those last few pages were the sweetest. I only wish the volumes were longer or that we wouldn't have to wait too long for the next one.
The only thing I found disappointing with this volume was that the paper quality has changed. In volumes #1-3 the paper is thick, smooth and glossy, and in this one it's everything opposite. The artwork is still beautiful, but the effect is not the same. It distracted me from the story at first and it took me a while to stop noticing it.

Yes, the 4th volume is thinner. I wondered why, and now I know. 😅 I think I noticed because I bought all four volumes at the same time and I read them back to back. I got so used to the glossy pages that when I opened vol. 4, it felt like opening a magazine. 😬 But yes, I agree, it'll do as long as we get more content. 😉

Reading your Fence reviews always makes me wonder why I didn't start that series already but every time I look for a graphic novel I select another one 🤔 Maybe a 5 star review by you is going to be the turning point

I wasn't sure I'd enjoy reading about fencing, but I like that part. If you decide to give it a try, just know that it's an ongoing story and if you're looking for romance, you should lower your expectations. 😉

After reading what you said about the paper quality, I went to check on my copies and you are right! I haven’t noticed before! The fourth volume is even a little bit thinner than the previous three. Maybe if it have been made with the same type of paper it could have been the thickest one yet 🤷🏽♀️
Oh well, as long as we have more volumes to devour I’ll be content.
