Highest Bidder was an enjoyable read, but it doesn't hold a candle to the rest of series. It fell flat and was really missing that emotional connection I enjoyed about the other SPC books. Daisy and Ronan's relationship was too insta-lovey for me and I couldn't see them connecting on a level other than physical. One thing I really enjoy about the other books in SPC is that bond that the main characters share with one another, and while Daisy and Ronan's history is unique, their relationship ultimately felt more like lust than anything else.

The smut here wasn't the spiciest I've seen from Sara, which I found surprising given the tropes, and definitely felt a bit parred down compared to the rest of the series. Nonetheless, for those looking to dip their toes in the taboo trope, this is a great introduction.
