I read a few of Janet Dailey's Christmas stories so decided to try some of her other works. Graham Winton is the narrator and for the most part he does a really fine job. Once in awhile, though, he can make a guy sound like an old geezer even though he's not that old!

The story centers on Joe Dollarhide (what a name huh?) and his quest for revenge against Benteen Calder. Fortunately that theme doesn't take up the majority of the narrative. Where does a quest for revenge get you anyway? Just a whole lot of angst, unhappiness and general misery. His quest led him to make some pretty stupid decisions, but it all ends well.

The story clips along at a good pace, and I was in the mood for talk about cattle, the range and a guy getting a piece of land!
