This was a good sci fi thriller. The narrative moved at good pace but I did find the book a touch to long for the scope of the story.
This is my second time reading a thriller by Alastair and once again I have the same reaction. I like this one but I prefer his space opera. In that subgenres, his talent for vast worldbuilding shines in a way that it doesn't get to in a more intimate sci fi thriller. The challenge here is that the characters fell flat, which is hard to overcome in a narrative so dependent on the characters.
I would recommend this one to readers who like a sci fi thriller with some depth and complexity.
Disclaimer I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
