Beetrice is a little girl who loves bees. She even looks like a bee with her black and yellow clothes, her big bee-like glasses and she even put bees wax in her hair. Beetrice takes vitamin B everyday and eats lots of honey too. When her friends at school ask her to play with them at a school picnic in the park she declines and spends her time watching bees buzz around a hive. Beetrice wonders if she should have been born a bee instead of a little girl. Her friend Dewey begged her to come and play, but she just watched the hive, and that made him angry. Beetrice hears a whisper coming from the hive and as sweet sticky honey dripped down she stuck out her tongue for a taste. Suddenly something bewitching happened and before she knew it she was turned into an egg, then a larvae, then a pupae and finally a buzzing little bee. Beetrice flew into the hive and was welcomed by the Queen who quickly put her to work. She worked hard gathering the pollen, producing the beeswax, building the honeycomb and making the honey. Beetrice was learning that being a bee isn't so easy. How will she ever become a little girl again? You will have to read the story to see.

This colorfully illustrated ebook is a fun read. Young readers will learn all about bees and their habitat. Young readers will also learn the value of friendship and being able to accept themselves for who they are.
