This book is a classic example of one of the reasons Goodreads is hands down my favorite app. I would have never thought to read this book. Not because I dislike Beth Moore, but because I didn’t know enough about her enough to want to read her memoir.

But. I really trust and value the opinions of the friends I have on Goodreads. Most of whom I don’t know at all, but at the same time have come to care for them and thankful for my reading community. I love to see what their reading and their thoughts after. I can’t tell you how many books I’ve discovered because a Goodreads friend was reading it or had reviewed it. This book came up over and over and always 5 stars so much that I thought I’d try it.

I’m so so glad I did.

She captivated me. She is a great storyteller and I felt her genuineness with heartfelt details. I hated to see it end and without going back and reviewing all the books I’ve read this year when I finished I felt like it was probably the best book I’ve read this year.

I’m grateful for her story. I’m grateful she allowed us to be blessed by it and I’m grateful for my Goodreads friends that introduced me to it.

I hope in some small way the Lord uses her story to help and encourage you. I pray he continues to use Beth to touch the lives of so many and I pray for her, a sister, a believer, and someone trying the very best we know how to live a life honoring and pleasing to the Lord.
