How You Get the Girl (Love & Other Disasters, #3)

Lovely novel about two women finding their way, getting stronger and sure of where they are heading, while getting closer and falling in love.
Both live with different struggles, such as the care of a teenage relative, depression, doubt of self worth, insecurities about where to belong on the ace spectrum, which kind of queer to identify with, and the question if there even is a need to identify with labels.
Anita Kelly is a exceptional writer. They let me feel the characters' challenges, their moods and doubts, their emotions and strength.
The falling in love is organic, feels natural and never overly sweet.
I love that her characters feel so realistic.
Elle and Julie are wonderful characters and their story was beautiful. And despite the realistic issues, still positive and heartwarming.

i need to read this author asap! and i’m definitely gonna add this and place a hold at my library now. glad you loved it, drache! ❤️
@elena you obviously have to ❤️ I think you could enjoy the Moonlighters series, too. I loved espescially the first and second installments, both are novellas.
Be aware that How you get the girl has side characters from Love & other disasters (which I didn't read yet because I don't get the hype of baking shows) and Something wild and wonderful. The MCs London and Dahlia from Love & other disasters are Julie's twin and her friend (Julie is one of the MCs in How you get the girl) and one of the MCs from Something wild and wonderful, Ben, is Julie's best friend. They are all very present in this book.

@Nicole, thanks sweetheart, it did! ♥️♥️ I wasn't overwhelmed with love for it, but I enjoyed it a lot!
well, good thing both love & other disasters and something wild & wonderful are both available at my library right now so i’ll be able to read those before this. i always prefer reading in order, so if characters make cameos/appearances in other books i prefer reading their books first (if they have it). i’ll make a note of the moonlighters series too. thanks, drache! 💗
i love your review!!! i’m reading right now!!! just also wanted to let you know that anita uses they/them pronouns 💗
