deceit. dishonesty. catfishing. whatever you want to call this book, it wasn’t true love. if we are 70% through the book and you’re still lying to the person you’re falling in love with (instantly, might i add) then it’s not my kinda story!
i wasn’t the biggest fan of alicia’s books before but her writing…is not it brothers. my god. i deeply despise daphne the deceiver as a whole, the fact that chris was practically in a relationship with two women and could switch off??? (i would feel like shit if that happened to me irl) and i was promised that i’d give a shit about baseball at the end of this but i didn’t even pass gas ✋😐

Pls I just finished and I can’t even believe how long it took her to tell the truth. And she didn’t even tell the truth! She slipped up and got found out! Like how do you ruin an otherwise good romance w this idk. But I’ll never read another one of her books 😭
