3.5 rounded up. This was a cute middle-grade spooky summer read that gives off (as many other reviewers have stated) “Series of Unfortunate Events” vibes. Absolutely LOVE the idea of a gothic water park! Count me in. It seems like a fun series I’ll probably continue. It does feel a bit middle-grade. The plot is fairly simple, they happen to stumble in major clues all the time, and as an adult the mystery wasn’t difficult to figure out. However, I had a grand old time reading it. The one thing that was difficult for me was the narration continuous switching back and forth between the brother and sister. That might just be me, but sometimes I had to stop and backtrack to remember who was supposed to be talking.
