watch lauren end the third book like this just to mess with us

a lot of people are saying the book doesn't have plot because Kai finds Pae quickly, and it really doesn't have much of a plot, it just focuses on Kai and Pae's relationship

i've read too many reviews and now you guys are changing my thoughts 😭 now i'm like well there wasn't really any buildup or angst 💀 time to stop reading reviews ...

BUT this book deserves every star. although i do wish Kai didn't find her so quickly, i absolutely still loved the book! i understand that some people didn't like it buttt i love it 🥰 (i mean, my man kai is in it! how could i not?)

"Prove it," I repeat, voice quiet. "Hate me enough to make me want you." I cup her jaw, feeling her eyes burning into mine. "Ruin me."

"Don't live to die. Die because you lived."

"Careful, Gray," he murmurs. "I was beginning to think you cared about me."

"Well, you're not exactly the most encouraging person to be tied up with."
"Under different circumstances," he pants, "I promise you I'm much more fun tied up."

"Prove it to me, Gray," I murmur against her ear. "Hate me enough to use me."

"I hate the way he's watching me, like he's ready to collect the pieces when I inevitably break."

"That's my girl,"

"Oh, sitting is easy," he argues. "It's the looking pretty part that can be difficult. Well," he adds sincerely, "not in my experience. But I'm sure others may struggle with that."

"I'm tired."
"So am I," he sighs. "Specifically of you."

"Up, Gray."
"Make me, Azer."

"Don't call me that,"
"Don't call you what?"
"Darling. That's what."

"Very good, Gray," he murmurs. "Being close to me always was the most difficult part for you."

"We still aren't dancing."
"So start leading, Azer."
"Yes, darling."

"Always trying to get me naked, aren't you, darling?"
"No, but I am always saving your ass, Prince."

"Your heart is pounding."
"That tends to happen when you touch me, yes."
