it was amazing

Never travel by plane… Otherwise you’ll be caught by some sinister and enigmatic physical phenomenon… And mournfully repeat the fate of the certain personages from this fabulous opus…
In addition to all their misfortune the characters of The Anomaly read The Anomaly novel written by the character of The Anomaly
“God, but stupidity oozes from every corner of a religious mind. Every conviction is a thorn in the side of intelligence. Believers lose their wits in their efforts to see death as just another misadventure. Doubt has made me an autodidact of life, and I have enjoyed every moment all the more for that. I am never overcome by mystical emotions, even when gazing at the glorious glittering around a cloud.”

The modern times… Computers, smartphones, advanced technologies, globalization, information explosion… But ignorance still holds sway…
Religion is a carnivorous fish in the abyssal depths. It emits the feeblest of light and needs a vast darkness around it to attract its prey.”

Despite God’s presumable omnipotence the great unknown appears to be even more powerful than God.

Vit Babenco Thanks. The book is a cosmic satire.

Pedro I was also initially overwhelmed; in my case, as days went by I felt it lost some of it's charme, while it swiftly began to resemble an Oulipo experiment. Good review!

David Such great points, Vit. A truly wild book!

Vit Babenco Thanks again.
Oulipo was a great idea. Both Raymond Queneau and Georges Perec are my favourite French authors. I’ve already read all Harry Mathews’s novels with great pleasure. And Italo Calvino is always delightful too. Jacques Roubaud is also magnificent.
