A Peculiar Enchantment

I was given a review copy of this book and thought it enjoyable. It had a fairytale quality to it mixed with the Georgian setting. The language suited the 'time' as did the plot.
The characters were typical of that era as were 'conditions', whereby women were ruled by the whims of men and the law dictated their place. I liked Adelaide's determination, rebelliousness and intelligence and how she and Ducane further the plot.
Overall, this was engaging with a touch of magic.
Nicely done.
