really liked it

If The Little Mermaid, You’ve Got Mail, and, I don’t know, Bull Charlotte Durham had a baby, it would be this book. Daphne had a bad day and heckled Chris until he cried, a classic love story if ever I’ve heard one. Then her sister-in-law gets pregnant and Daphne has to take over her job (you’ve heard it a million times). Chris is still chilly on the whole “you made me cry at bat” thing but apparently Daph has spectacular tits so all is forgiven. If you can get over Daphne lying to Chris’s face for 80% of the book, you’ll probably enjoy it; I found this a difficult landscape to traverse, but even I found the story itself charming. I also know nothing about baseball so the descriptions of Daphne’s eyes glazing over during games was relatable. The Art of Catching Feelings: come for the sports romance, stay for the… reluctant-but-magical oral.

Also I have no idea where I am in this book because I’m listening to it on Audible so this 20% is a TOTAL guess how do people do this"
