When you start rooting for the bad guys to kill everyone else, you know something's gone wrong. I found this book intensely annoying.

E. Kahn Walker and his kinky bi Asian love slave are some of the worst fictional people I've read about and I was -still- cheering for them.

Summers same here. I dropped the book, but at the part i read up to, it seemed Walker killed less people than the heroes did.

Jill Not sure how far you got. The natives who died because the future-guys accidentally exposed them to the common cold? The Olmecs who were probably wiped out by the mumps? Now, ideally, someone in Walker's group should probably have AIDS or be busy spreading other of the more dangerously advanced STDs among all of the people they're raiding. Also, 3000 years in the past the Europeans wouldn't have all of the developed immunity.
