WYA Read 3 Books Quickie Challenge
Duration: April 2016

4. Read a book with a building/s or city scape on the cover -

2016 (thus far) lessons learned:
*For next year's thread, set up monthly reading logs first, then the alphabets
*Alphabet entries should each get their own entry, rather than groups of letters - will make updating much easier as the year progresses.
*Challenges have been hit or miss for me this year. Sometimes they're very motivating and exciting; other times they're a chore.
*I can no longer read a book just because it is the next one on my list/in my collection/on the stack. Even if it is a title that I have very much wanted to read for a long time - if it isn't the book for the mood/season/phase I'm in right now, it isn't going to cut it.
*For that ^ very reason, I'm both more likely to stop reading a book these days than I ever have before, and also to give a "not right now" book a second chance. Thus, the "on hold" shelf in addition to the "couldn't finish" shelf.
*Regardless, I'm still not convinced that I'll ever try Outlander again. Or Game of Thrones. And that's OK. :-)
*At the moment, I'm having more fun tracking my alphabets as they develop WITHOUT deliberately trying to fill certain letters. That might change as the end of year approaches, but we'll see.
*Not trying to track genre's read in a thread this year was a good choice. Might still go back and do some analysis later. Much easier to do by shelf (even if it means going back and updating some titles).

The end of 2016 is in site, and I've got plenty to enjoy between now and the new year - including books lined up/in progress for the last two slots of my alphabet (title starting with X, author first name starting with Q) that I'm legitimately wanting to read, not JUST because of their alphabetiness. :-)

My member list for 2017 is all set up, and I'm seeing about finalizing or tying up a few remaining challenges. A perfect, cozy way to spend a snowy afternoon.

I DID IT! My personal alphabet challenge is completed for 2016! :-)
