Steve Eisman, Mike Burry, and the men who ran the "garage band hedge fund" made huge fortunes off the downfall of others. Do you see them as prophetic heroes, greedy opportunists...or something else? Lewis doesn't make any judgments about them. He lets them speak for themselves. Eisman is the most ideological; the others might have had some qualms about what they were doing, but they were doing it to make a lot of money.

What stands out for me is the bravery and confidence in their convictions they all had. They would have destroyed themselves if the were wrong, but they were right.
