I can imagine the movie being better Karen. It doesn't happen that often that the movie is better, but this one feels so visual with all the food and the cooking. I'll put it on my list of movies to see! :-)
Yes I agree it is pretty unusual, but I felt the movie just connected everything better and it concentrated just one the one part of the book which was the most interesting :)
The book did meander a bit at times. I thought they could have started it in France ... that was where the story really got going for me. Sounds like they did a good adaptation for the movie, I can't wait to see it now! :-)
