Lee Prescott was born in Liverpool, England, at the height of Beatlemania. Much to his disappointment, being unrelated to any of the Fab Four (DNA test pending), he found himself having to be educated and gain employment status, achieving the former at the Universities of Leeds and Strathclyde and the latter through a quarter of a century working in information technology. While not aimlessly wandering around the world’s mountainous regions, Lee lives in Glasgow, Scotland, with his family.

The Great Arab Conquests by Hugh Kennedy
"Starting in the 630s CE, the history of the world was transformed by a new force exploding out of the Arabian Peninsula. It was from there that a series of Arab armies spread rapidly to the north, east, and west to destabilize kingdoms, roll back emp" Read more of this review »
The Great Arab Conquests by Hugh Kennedy
"Hugh Kennedy's over cautious and suspicious treatment of Arab sources makes this a bumpy read. The book though is informative but should not be the definitive book on the subject rather a supplement to other works. The author's attempt at neutrality " Read more of this review »
The Great Arab Conquests by Hugh Kennedy
"The Great Arab Conquests by Hugh Kennedy is a delightful book to read, full of interesting facts and great stories. I have read numerous books on the Roman Empire, Byzantium and the Crusades, this book fills in the gaps between those periods.

Excellent inter-weaving of isolated, rural Irish life with Dublin-based trauma. I look forward to the next in the series.

An early King work, entertaining enough but lacks the pace of his latter works. Got a kick out of seeing Tapawingo referenced in there though.
