Jessica (Abele) Briceno grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After receiving her B.S in Communications from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in August of 2000, she moved to Houston,Texas to try her hand at magazine editing and publication. Jessica later went on to complete a second degree to become a registered dental hygienist from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

After her own intense journey to self discovery, Jessica felt a strong desire to help others who were struggling with things like self-acceptance, self-worth or those simply searching for a greater sense of inner peace and happiness. 1. If you want to write - do it! Hold yourself to some deadlines and this will keep you accountable.
2. Keep note cards or small notepad with you at all times. Inspiring ideas, new chapter ideas and other fine details usually happen when we are the least prepared for them. My husband has been woken up in the middle of the night many times throughout my writing process of The Truly Happy You! But I had to get those ideas recorded!
3. Don't give up, it's okay to take a break, but don't shove your work under the bed and forget about it.
4. Find a great editor to work with (i did!)
5. Believe in yourself. And on the days that you don't - remind yourself that your amazing and go right back to believing!(less)

For me, I found that most of my really progressive writing times came in one or two ways.
1. During a mid morning/early afternoon trip to the local coffee shop with an espresso and my hearing aids turned off! Yup - I work better when I only hear my thoughts! :-)
2. Late afternoon and into the late evening. This was hard to accommodate sometimes - I was juggling family time and my desire for a good night sleep. I love to sleep!(less)
