Mark has worked on London dealing floors as an equity analyst for the last 20 years. He has recently left the financial district to devote himself to his other passion: writing and public speaking.

For his first book, he has turned his mind to an investigation of how to lead an authentic life.

He lives in London and loves it. When he's not in town, he occupies his time with things people now call 'action sports'.

This is not supposed to be a glib statement; I am aware that life keeps changing the goalposts when you are not looking, but for now the answer is 'yes', and I hope I will stay flexible enough to adjust when the answer risks getting towards 'sort of...' :-) Thanks for your comment!(less)

Sasquatch by M.E. Knerr
"Nice violent Bigfoot action but not much of a book. Mostly people sleeping with each other and trying to figure out if it’s Bigfoot who's suddenly turned into an anti-gun activist or maybe just a really angry deer."
Civilizations by Felipe Fernández-Armesto
"
The eloquent historian Felipe Fernández-Armesto has clearly meant this book to be a counter-proposal to the geographic determinism espoused by scholars such as Jared Diamond. And for the most part he does an admirable job of convincing the reader tha" Read more of this review »

In the final chapter of their book, the authors reflect on the discussion that has gone before and leave the reader with some parting thoughts. "We asked", they say, "what that actually might be, a 'philosophy of mathematics'. We don't really know. O ...more

“We have started the journey- no turning back now. Three steps lie between us and the goal:

(1) Know who you are.
(2) Know what you need.
(3) Get it.

These steps need to be taken in sequence. I cannot know what I need before I know who I am. I cannot go after what I need before I know what I need.”
Mark Hebwood, Happiness Rules

“Violence is what people do when they run out of good ideas. It's attractive because it's simple, it's direct, it's almost always available as an option. When you can't think of a good rebuttal for your opponent's argument, you can always punch them in the face.”
James S.A. Corey, Abaddon’s Gate

“There's no such thing as winning or losing. There is won and there is lost; there is victory and defeat. There are absolutes. Everything in between is still leftt to fight for.”
Derek Landy, Skulduggery Pleasant

“You can't wait around for destiny to give you what you think you deserve, you have to earn it, even if you think you've paid your dues.”
Slash, Slash

“Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. ”
Carrie Fisher

“The important thing is not so much to read fast, as to read each book at the speed it deserves. It is as regrettable to spend too much time on some books as it is to read others too quickly. There are books you know well, just from flicking through them, others you only grasp at second or third reading, and others again which will last you a lifetime.”
Jacques Bonnet, Phantoms on the Bookshelves

Thanks Igor! Writing it was a joy but creating a buzz for it is hard work! I think I may have to take lessons from you - your list of publications has grown impressively. Kudos.
