Matt Sinclair is a writer of fiction and nonfiction. He works as a journalist in New York City covering philanthropy and the nonprofit sector in the United States and with increasing focus on international philanthropy. In 2012, he established Elephant's Bookshelf Press, LLC, a traditional publisher of fiction and (eventually) nonfiction. Since its inception, EBP has published eleven books, including six anthologies, as of 2016. Its first publication of 2017 will be Lost Wings, the debut of Don M. Vail, whose urban fantasy novel takes place in San Francisco and the many levels of hell. ...more

They're two totally different books, yet they both have a similar theme woven in: Bullying. In the case of Bully Box, that's the frame within which all the short stories exist. As for Billy Bobble, it's an underlying theme that characterizes both Billy and Suzy, the book's main characters. Also speaking as a publisher, I'm reviewing a possible EBP book for late 2015 or possibly early 2016, and I'm about to finalize edits on one of the first books we'll publish in 2015 and getting ready to launch a new anthology for 2015. Lots to do!(less)

Neil Gaiman
“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”

I'm still learning about it. I joined a while ago but I'm just starting to explore what it offers. I'm happy to see so many familiar names and faces. :-)
