I love that things flow, ideas come to me and though I write non-fiction, there is a strong creative element as I tap into subconscious reserves and things come out and I often have no idea where 'that' came from! But I do really... it reminds me of when I was practicing hypnotherapy in London years ago and though I'd always had a script and session plan loosely worked out (from which I frequently deviated), I was often an astonished observer of what was coming out of my mouth... and yet it worked. I learned to 'allow' my subconscious to lead me as it knows best. For me there is great joy in writing when this happens. (less)

Are You Needlessly Recycling Emotional Pain?

Are you needlessly recycling emotional pain? How to let go and move on.

In my experience as a therapist, I’ve learned that a lot of people struggle with negative thoughts and feelings that not only hold them back but wear them down, make them ill, angry, depressed and sad, and prevent them from living a life of joy. The past is in the past – and you DO know this, even though you might ignore the f Read more of this blog post »

Martha DuSage
“Sometimes you just don't know, what you just don't know until you know it.

If anyone says that meditation and spirituality are weird, tell them the definition of weird is supernatural, and that you'll takes supernatural over mundane any day.”
Martha Du'sage

Oscar Wilde
“Some love too little, some too long, Some sell, and others buy; Some do the deed with many tears, And some without a sigh: For each man kills the thing he loves, Yet each man does not die. He”
Oscar Wilde, Ballad of Reading Gaol

C. JoyBell C.
“At the end of the day, the argument between spirituality and about spirituality, is all against the nature of spirituality. In arguing spirituality, we go against its very nature. The important question: “Am I being kind in what I am saying/doing”? And that is all. In all truth, to eat an ice cream cone and to smile with the joy of a child, is about a billion times more spiritual of an activity, than to discuss views about spirituality. The experience of innocence; the experience of joy—this edifies ourselves and others. And that is spirituality. An ice cream cone can be the most spiritual object in the universe, at any given time.”
C. JoyBell C.

Don DeLillo
“Civilization did not rise and flourish as men hammered out hunting scenes on bronze gates and whispered philosophy under the stars, with garbage as a noisome offshoot, swept away and forgotten. No, garbage rose first, inciting people to build a civilization in response, in self-defense. We had to find ways to discard our waste, to use what we couldn't discard, to reprocess what we couldn't use. Garbage pushed back.”
Don DeLillo, Underworld

Arnold Bennett
“...a life in which conduct does not fairly well accord with principles is a silly life; and that conduct can only be made to accord with principles by means of daily examination, reflection, and resolution.”
Arnold Bennett
