My difficulty with reading Bosch series is to slow down and savor. Connelly, once again, gives us exciting murder (unsolved) cases to solve. He threw a different character we most likely won't see again - maybe - an empath which neither Renee Ballard nor Bosch want her "insights." All in all, and I have every Bosch book, I thoroughly enjoyed Desert Star, which I'll take out time to time and reread just for the pleasure of reading a talented write

First time read of author Lou Berney. I couldn't put the book down - and then what? Now what? Why? Unique storyline, unforgettable and relatable characters - known a few people like them. Sad how there are children right now being abused with no one to save them. Giving that data in the book has readers realize the sad state CPS is in.
