Obituary

Jerry Ray Lundien, at the age of 86 passed away on August 29th at the Springhouse Village Memory Care Facility in Springfield, Missouri.  He was born the son of Ray and Maxine Lundien in Humboldt Iowa, January 20th, 1938. Jerry was a member of the Schweitzer Church in Springfield, Missouri.

Jerry was a graduate of Iowa State University and achieved his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Kansas.  He was a member of two NATO committees (serving as the chairman of one), and worked for the Corp of Engineers for 40 years.  

Jerry was an avid reader of mostly technical things, but enjoyed good novels as well.  He loved sudoku and was a gifted wood-worker.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sheryl Lundien; sister Avis Gardere of Port-au-Prince, Haiti; two sons, David Lundien and wife, Geri of Rogers, Arkansas, and Matthew Lundien of Ozark, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Hannah Thompson and husband Jared of Rogersville, and Joshua Lundien of Springfield.  

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 7th, at Schweitzer church with Reverend Sheila Pippin officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  There will be a time of visitation following the service in the Schweitzer fellowship center.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Alzheimer's Association
