Netflix's The Gentlemen TV show has a new trailer, and — bladdy 'ell — Ray Winstone is in it

Hollywood's hardest hardman is finally teaming up with Guy Ritchie, posing the question: how has it taken this long?

Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen. Two things are true of it: one, that it exceeds the British Medical Association's recommended daily use of the c-word within its first three minutes. Secondly, it slaps. And that's because it has everything you'd want in a modern gangster movie, really. Guns, drugs, outrageous cockney accents. Hugh Grant in full lecherous weirdo mode.

You could also see the film's universe serving as great fodder for exploration in further sequels and spin-offs, a rare thing to say of new movie concepts nowadays — that they warrant more, not less. Which is why last year's announcement of a brand new TV show on Netflix was such an exciting prospect, even if Grant isn't coming back for it. (As far as we know… right now.)

And now we have a trailer, launched exclusively by GQ, soundtracked by the Zombies “Time of the Season”, in which we're introduced to our new ensemble of aristocratic ne'er-do-wells. The White Lotus' Theo James leads, alongside Skins' Kaya Scodelario, Joely Richardson, Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, hardnut Vinnie Jones and…

Is that Ray bladdy Winstone?

Otherwise, the teaser promises everything you could hope for from a Guy Ritchie series: vibes aplenty, loads of guns, booze, blood… and we presume a red band version would bring the swears in abundance.

Along with dropping the big reveal that Winstone is joining the cast, The Gentlemen is now confirmed to launch in March.

As for whether we'll be getting a sequel to the Gentlemen film any time soon, Charlie Hunnam — who considered returning for the show, but opted to focus on his screenwriting career — offered a morsel of goss in his recent interview with GQ while promoting Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon.

“There is, I believe — I mean, quote me, but this is not coming from any sort of direct knowledge — a general sense of a desire to maybe make a second Gentlemen film. And if that were to happen, I'd be incredibly sad if I wasn't involved,” he said.

The Gentlemen comes to Netflix in March.
