The best Amazon Prime Day home and kitchen deals 2024: Our editor's favourite deals
Amazon Prime Day is here once again and the deals are flowing. Here's our rundown of what to buy
All products are independently selected by our editors. If you buy something, we may earn an affiliate commission.
Here at GQ we’re suckers for a good deals day, and unfortunately Black Friday is just too far away for our sale-induced seratonin boost to get us through. But rain or shine, who can we count on to deliver? Oh, why Amazon of course. Enter the Amazon Prime Day sales 2024.
Giving us a much-needed mid-year shopping bonanza, Amazon Prime Day is taking place this week on July 16-17 meaning it's the perfect opportunity to stock up on warm weather bits, whether that’s a new summer duvet, a BBQ, some chic garden furniture, or the drinks-makers that’ll get you through those al-fresco parties in style. It’s also a great chance to get your hands on any bits you might need in the grooming department (manifesting some sun screen deals for us all), as well as an opportunity to invest in some new luggage or travel items for any pending summer holidays.
Of course, we need to be realistic about what to expect. It is the middle of summer after all, and it would be a bit outlandish to compare an Amazon sale to something bigger like Black Friday (although we do like to pretend, just to raise our spirits). The deals do vary quite substantially, some being quite major, and others being a bit meh. The best, of course, have been listed below.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
Amazon Prime Day continues today, July 17, meaning it's the perfect time to stock up on anything you need for the summer. Whether that's some home essentials, garden furniture to help you enjoy your outdoor space, a new vacuum cleaner to tidy up with, a hot tub or even just a new appliance to use over the summer holidays, this year's deals will hopefully cover everything on your list.
How do you sign up for Amazon Prime?
If you’ve managed to go this long without Amazon Prime, we have to salute your ability to resist a good deal. But if you’re planning on getting involved and saving a bit of money this week, you’ll need to sign up in order to access the Amazon Spring Deals Day. Thankfully, it’s nice and easy. Head to Amazon Prime, pop in your details (enjoy the free trial even), and prepare to get a bit addicted to online shopping. That, and you’ll also have access to Amazon Prime Video’s TV Shows and films. Signing up for Amazon Prime only costs £8.99 per month, or you can pay £89 a year straight up. Just click the button below and get yourself primed and ready (pardon the pun).

Shark
Stratos Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Vacuum cleaners are worth investing in, but if you shop in the sales you can cop a pretty decent one for significantly less than you’re probably expecting to pay. Now just under £300, this Shark Stratos vacuum consistently gets good feedback from our testers thanks to the combination of anti-hair wrap technology, odour-reducing technology and the multiple array of tools that come with the vacuum to help you reach everywhere in your home. Our only qualm is that it’s quite a large machine so you might prefer a cordless model if you’ve got a lot of stairs or don’t want to be dealing with something quite so hefty.

If anyone ever asks us about essential oils, we always direct them straight to Neom, not just for how amazing its oil blends smell, but for how effectively its wellbeing pod diffuses them. With a ceramic cover, remote control and LED light and timer, the Neom pod is one of the more technologically advanced essential oil diffusers, while also looking subtle and chic in your home. There’s nothing quite like freshly squeezed juice to start the day, but do you know what’s even better? Freshly squeezed juice with a side of the satisfaction you get from squeezing it yourself. In a compact design that makes it somewhat easy to fit on your counter (it is still a clunky appliance after all), the Philips juicer makes 1.5 litres of juice from each effort and is somewhat easy to clean and look after.
