Actress Kiara Advani, who made her Cannes debut this year (2024), impressed everyone with her stunning outfit — a pink and black satin gown with black gloves and an impressive Bulgari necklace. Advani, who recently completed 10 years in the entertainment industry, began her acting career with Fugly (2014). In the past decade, she has delivered several noteworthy performances. However, Kiara Advani has also turned down some projects in the past. Below is a list of movies turned down by Kiara Advani.

Kiara Advani said 'NO' to these 5 blockbuster movies that did a good business at the box office

1. Liger

Did you know Ananya Panday wasn't the first choice for filmmaker Puri Jagannadh's ambitious pan-India project Liger? According to a Times of India report, the makers of the action sports drama had initially approached Kiara Advani for the lead role. However, she turned down the movie as she had allocated the dates to another project. The film marked Vijay Deverakonda's debut in the Hindi film industry.

2. Housefull 4

According to various online reports, Kiara Advani was initially reported to be cast opposite Bobby Deol in Farhad Samji’s multi-starrer Housefull 4. However, things didn't go as planned, and the makers ended up casting Kriti Kharbanda instead. The reason why Advani turned down the project is still unknown. The ensemble cast of the comedy-drama features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, and Pooja Hegde in prominent roles.

3. Apurva

Written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Apurva is a highly engaging survival thriller that was offered to Kiara Advani. But she declined the opportunity to headline the movie as she felt it would be a major risk at this point in her career, according to a Times of India report. The makers then roped in Tara Sutaria to play the titular role, who delivered a noteworthy performance in the edge-of-the-seat survival thriller.

4. Student of the Year

According to a Times of India report, Kiara Advani auditioned for the role of Shanaya Singhania in Student of the Year. However, the role eventually went to Alia Bhatt, who, along with Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, delivered noteworthy performances. The film turned out to be a massive hit, helping the debutants start off their careers on a great note.

5. Simmba

After working with Kiara Advani in Lust Stories, producer Karan Johar was reportedly interested in casting her in the lead role of Shagun Sathe in Simmba, according to a Times of India report. But director Rohit Shetty didn't see Advani as the perfect fit for the role. In the end, the makers (Johar and Shetty) ended up casting Sara Ali Khan opposite Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
