Hershey Gardens opened in 1937 with Milton Hershey’s request to “create a nice garden of roses.” More than 85 years later, the small rose garden has blossomed into 23 acres of botanical beauty providing visitors with unique experiences and enriching opportunities.
Overlooking the town of Hershey, Hershey Gardens features a breathtaking assortment of flowers and shrubs, a stately collection of rare, signature trees, and various programs designed to delight visitors of all ages.

3,000 Roses In Bloom
The historical highlight of Hershey Gardens, this is where it all began in 1937. The brilliant assortment of 3,000 roses representing 115 varieties includes an interesting mix of heights, colors and flower forms of Hybrid Tea, floribunda, shrub, and miniature roses, and features the new AARS rose variety winners each year.

Christina B2024-07-20Beautiful Gardens & Butterfly Exhibit Just a few mins down the road and behind the amusement park is a beautiful garden. The butterfly exhibit is lovely too. So many beautiful flowers, Shrubbery and trees. A number of areas for different types of flowers & settings. Lots and lots of roses !! There’s a children’s garden as well.

This was very relaxing, simply BEAUTIFUL, and worth the trip there. Photos Glore!! I highly recommend seeing the Butterfly Atrium first, and then the gardens. Walking through this place does take a while because there are many different areas. The trees near the back right are amazing. A fun little labyrinth for you to walk in and out of, also, there are many benches to sit and enjoy all the views.

scronk732024-05-13Hershey Gardens The Gardens are so well maintained and just beautiful. We wanted to go when many the flowers were blooming so we chose May 11th but we were a little too early for the roses and a little late for the tulips. I loved what we did see of the bleeding hearts, peonies, iris, and many more. Make sure to visit the butterfly exhibit.
5265wanda2024-04-21A Beautiful Day! We are big fans of The Hershey Gardens. I think it is a comfortable walk to tour the gardens. Benches are placed along various paths so you can take a little rest if needed. The entrance fee is reasonable and you don’t need reservations. If you go during the weekdays you don’t have large crowds. Parking is close by however if it is busy you may have a little walk. Handicap parking is only available in a few number of spots. I noticed that it was easier at Hershey for touring if you have special needs. We watched everyone with special needs along with their help struggling to tour the other famous gardens. Pushing someone up the hills and getting around the crowds looked hard. They looked miserable and it was a real challenge. Hershey looks much easier to navigate. Restaurants are close by within short drive. A beautiful day.
