Fan Sues Madonna For Forcing Concertgoers To Watch 'Sexual Acts' On Stage

Madonna is facing a new lawsuit from a fan that claims the singer forced concertgoers to watch "sexual acts" on stage while attending her Celebration Tour.

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Justen Lipeles filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 29) against Madonna, promoter Live Nation and four California concert venues claiming that the 65-year-old singer subjected the audiences to "pornography without warning" like "topless women" simulating "sexual acts" onstage. Throughout her tour, the pop icon, known throughout her career for being sex positive, brought out special guests like Ricky Martin and Maluma on stage during segments with erotic dancing, lap dances and NSFW touching, per People.

The complaint states that Madonna and Live Nation "lulled" concertgoers into purchasing "expensive tickets" and "purposely and deceptively" withheld info about the shows from marketing the February and March shows, such as not starting on time, People reports. Lipeles also claims in the lawsuit that the Queen of Pop lip-synced much of her performance and demanded the air conditioning be turned off, creating a "hot and uncomfortable temperature" and causing him to become physically ill.

Per court documents, Lipeles is suing for negligent misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, unfair competition, false advertising and breach of written contract.

This is the latest lawsuit the "Like A Virgin" singer has faced in relation to her Celebration Tour. Earlier this year, a couple fans filed a suit claiming breach of contract in New York for starting three of her December 2023 shows after 10:30 p.m., two hours after the scheduled start time. Madonna and her team hit back saying the December 13 show started late due to a "technical issue during soundcheck" that was "well-documented in press reports at the time."
