From late 1978 to late 1979, central Ohio was rocked by 10 murders that defied explanation - men and women shot dead randomly in their homes and doing everyday things. But a mistake with a credit card finally identified the killers as a pair of Columbus brothers, Gary and Thaddeus Lewingdon. In 1884, 10,000 Cincinnatians filled the streets around the Hamilton County Courthouse to protest a jury's decision to convict a cold-blooded killer with the lesser crime of manslaughter.
