Adults looking for jobs or kids looking for place to do homework now have a new space to do so.

The Cedar Rapids Salvation Army opened a new computer lab at its C Avenue Northwest headquarters Monday afternoon. It has ten new computers and a printer. Adults and kids are welcome.

The Salvation Army partnered with Collins Community Credit Union to raise more than $12,000 for the new computers. They say their old ones were outdated.

"The technology was not working well. We couldn't do much with it, and now that we have these new computers, state of the art we can expand on what we're already doing. We've already been in discussion about new programming," said Alan Hellstrom of the Salvation Army.

The computer lab is open for people to use now.
