HOUSTON — A longtime columnist for the Houston Chronicle and most recently CultureMap Houston, has died.

Ken Hoffman's son confirmed to CultureMap that he passed away at his home on Lake Conroe on Sunday.

CultureMap said Hoffman was known for his wide range, from writing about how to get hot fries at the drive-thru to advocating for pet adoption, and most recently, a blistering commentary on Houston's slow response to Hurricane Beryl.

Hoffman will be remembered for his wit, and most importantly, his love for the City of Houston.

It is unknown how old Hoffman was.
