Rain chances should increase midday Sunday and continue through late next week. Rainfall totals are hard to estimate this far out, but should be around 3 - 5 inches through Wednesday, with additional rainfall later because of an active tropical moisture plume. The path of the storm will be crucial to its impacts on South Texas. We will know much more once the storm emerges into the Gulf of Mexico.
Rough surf and a high risks of rip current are expected beginning Saturday and continuing into early next week.
Other risks, including strong winds, flash flooding and coastal flooding, are uncertain right now.
