Here are some tips to help you make the most of these events: 1) Set Clear Goals: Define specific goals you want to achieve at the event. Having clear objectives will help you focus your efforts. 2) Research the Event: Study the event agenda, speakers, sponsors, and attendees beforehand. Before any major game, the team comes up with a strategic plan. This is the same mindset you must have before attending any startup event. If you are able to attend as a team- divide and conquer. Align the best players in the best positions- Have the go-to-market /investor focused founder focus on networking "outside" of the main conference rooms while the product/technology focused founders can listen in on the relevant sessions. If you can afford it, set up a booth with a digital signage display board showcasing your product and the clear value proposition. You will definitely generate a LOT of leads from booths however it will require prompt follow up post event to be fruitful.

One thing I always make sure of is that before I go to the event, I will have checked who (individuals or job titles) is attending and what the message would be for each of them. Then I write elevator pitches for them and set a target for the nr. Of new contacts I want to reach.

I also like to print business cards that show your USP’s or stats you want people to remember. You sometimes only get a minute to engage with someone and this way they will remember your main message when they are back at work going through their cards.

Don't just talk about your startup; ask questions and show genuine interest in others' projects. Prioritize Connections: Identify key individuals or companies you want to connect with, and plan to engage with them early in the event. Use event hashtags, share insights, and engage with attendees online.
